Each year Quota Club of Redcliffe Inc. decide on the charities to be supported through the fundraising events. The Club has seen the difference that funds can make to those in need.
Our aim is to support the following organisations on an annual basis. These are our minor focus projects.
Each year, we are proud to support Meals on Wheels by providing Easter eggs at Easter and shortbread at Christmas for their clients. These small seasonal gifts are a way of sharing kindness and helping to make the occasions feel a little more special.
We like to build on that tradition by expanding our contribution and further enhancing the celebrations. We are exploring ways to add something extra that will bring additional warmth, enjoyment, and a sense of community to clients during these important times of the year. Our goal is not only to provide a treat, but also to help create moments of connection and joy.
Jebb House is an organisation we proudly support each year through three key initiatives designed to bring comfort and seasonal joy to those in their care.
At Easter, we provide Easter eggs to help mark the occasion and ensure clients can enjoy a traditional seasonal treat. At Christmas, we contribute funds toward the purchase of groceries for their Christmas lunch, helping to ensure a festive and enjoyable meal can be shared during this important time of year.
Beyond these annual programs, we also provide care packages throughout the year as needed. These packages are prepared with thought and care to offer practical support and a reminder that the community is thinking of them. Through this ongoing partnership, we aim not only to provide material assistance, but also to share kindness, dignity, and a sense of connection.
We are proud to support the work of Chameleon House each year through meaningful and practical contributions. Our annual financial donation toward their Christmas Lunch helps ensure the young people can come together to share a warm, festive meal and experience the joy and connection that the season brings.
Beyond our Christmas support, we remain responsive to the organisation’s needs throughout the year. We provide funding or essential items as required, helping to ease immediate pressures and improve day-to-day living conditions. In the past, this has included donating furniture to create more comfortable and welcoming spaces, as well as preparing and delivering care packages tailored to young peoples’ needs.
Through this ongoing partnership, our aim is not only to assist with practical resources, but also to demonstrate care, dignity, and a strong sense of community support for the important work Chameleon House undertakes.
We proudly support one child from the Redcliffe Peninsula to attend Agoonoree Scout Camp each year. Agoonoree is an exciting week-long outdoor camping adventure held during the September school holidays at Baden-Powell Park, bringing together members of Scouts Queensland and Girl Guides Queensland.
What makes Agoonoree particularly special is its strong focus on inclusion. Alongside Scouts and Guides, the camp welcomes children with additional needs from outside the Scouting and Guiding community, giving them the opportunity to experience the joy, adventure, and friendship that these programs offer. Through a wide range of outdoor and team-based activities, participants build confidence, develop new skills, and create lasting memories in a supportive and encouraging environment.
By sponsoring a child’s attendance, we help make this unique and enriching experience accessible to a young person who might not otherwise have the opportunity to take part.
We provide a donation each year to support prizes for the school section at the Redcliffe Show, a much-loved community event that showcases local talent, creativity, and achievement.
Our club has proudly contributed to this initiative for many years and greatly values the opportunity to be involved. By supporting the school section, we help recognise and reward the hard work of local students across a variety of categories, encouraging them to develop their skills, express their creativity, and take pride in their accomplishments.
This ongoing commitment not only celebrates the efforts of young people but also strengthens our connection with local schools and families. We see our contribution as an investment in the next generation and in the continued success of a long-standing community tradition.
Encircle regularly reaches out to the community with requests for assistance, and we make every effort to respond to these appeals in a meaningful way. Over the years, our support has included donations of foodstuffs and other essential items, tailored to meet the immediate needs of the people and families that Encircle serves.
By responding to these requests, we aim to provide practical support that makes a real difference in people’s day-to-day lives. Our contributions help ensure that individuals and families in vulnerable situations have access to necessary resources, while also supporting the broader initiatives of Encircle within the community.
Through this ongoing partnership, we not only provide material assistance but also show solidarity and care, reinforcing the vital role that community support plays in building resilience, connection, and well-being for those who rely on Encircle’s services. This continued engagement reflects our commitment to being a responsive and compassionate member of the local community.
Quota Club of Redcliffe Inc. has provided financial support for the following organisations in the past and current. These are our major focus project
Pre 2020 - Schools across the Redcliffe Peninsula have participated in the QuoCKa Reading Program for many years. The program ceased in 2020 due to the pandemic but was designed to help children develop a love of reading in a fun and supportive way.
QuoCKa stands for: Quo = Quota, C = Cops, K = Kids, A = Altogether.
The program aims to increase literacy levels in children, build a sense of community, and foster positive relationships between children and community members.
Each child receives their own book, with their name placed on a sticker inside the front cover. They are paired with a mentor or community member who reads with them and signs the book, creating a personal and engaging reading experience.
2025 - 2026 - The Forgotten Women program is the current major project of the Quota Club of Redcliffe. Through this initiative, the club provides care packages of essential household items to women when they move into their new accommodation, helping them settle in and feel supported.
There are more than 40,000 Queensland women over the age of 55 who are doing it tough—suffering financial hardship driven by the rising cost of living, limited or no superannuation, and a lack of affordable housing options. Often dealing with bereavement, the end of a relationship, or illness, these vulnerable women find themselves at the mercy of the rental market.
Their mission is simple but urgent: to provide a safe and affordable home for the women who have spent their lives caring for and shaping our own. By restoring the simple dignity of having a place to call home, we give these women stability and the chance to age in place without fear of homelessness.
Between 2022 and 2024, the Quota Club of Redcliffe supported schools across the Redcliffe Peninsula by providing soundfield systems—advanced classroom amplification technology designed to improve the learning environment for students and teachers alike. Each system includes a wireless teacher microphone and strategically placed speakers that evenly distribute sound throughout the classroom. This ensures that every student, no matter where they are seated, can hear instructions clearly above background noise.
The soundfield system significantly enhances the signal-to-noise ratio, which is especially important in classrooms with high levels of ambient noise, large class sizes, or students with hearing or attention challenges. By improving audibility, the system helps students focus, follow instructions more easily, and actively participate in lessons. For children with hearing difficulties, learning disabilities, or English as a second language, the system can be transformative, providing equitable access to learning opportunities.
For teachers, the benefits are equally important. Speaking above background noise can lead to vocal strain and fatigue, but the soundfield system allows educators to project their voice comfortably without shouting. This reduces stress and preserves vocal health, contributing to overall wellbeing in the classroom.
The Quota Club’s support for this project reflects its commitment to enhancing educational outcomes and ensuring that every child has the tools and environment to succeed. By providing these systems, the club helps create classrooms where students can engage fully, teachers can teach effectively, and learning becomes a more inclusive and supportive experience for everyone.
